God’s Word of the day October 9 2022

Matthew 4:3

Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”

In the above passage we see that the tempter or the devil tried to entice the Lord by saying that Jesus use His miraculous power to convert the stones of the desert into loaves of bread. Satan tries to deceive any person when they are vulnerable or weak. In this case the Son of God fasting for forty days and nights, was indeed physically weak. Perhaps this allowed the devil to assume that he could easily sway the Lord Jesus but little did he realize that his schemes would not deter the Lord. For our Lord is the Son of God. Many times in people’s lives when they are at the lowest point of their life or at the weakest moment in life, the devil is able to easily deceive and allow the men to commit sin. Our Lord did not fall for the tempter’s tactics, instead He replied by saying that man does not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Because Jesus was obedient to the will of His Father.

When a man faces trials and temptations, the only choice for him would be to overcome by meditating on the promises of God through His Son Lord Jesus Christ. That is being obedient to the Word of God. No matter what the circumstances be. The Lord is able to strengthen those who are weak physically and emotionally and He is able to sustain us through His mercy and grace at all times. Sometimes the results are not instant. God reacts according to His will and purpose to resolve a certain problem. The Bible encourages everyone to lean on to God, the creator of heavens and the earth, for every need in their life. Then they will surely find peace and healing through the Words of Scripture. Jesus Christ who is our savior, healer, redeemer, our rock, our life, our protector, He will care for us and lead us from all sorts of temptations. Because He experienced it all. Today let us meditate on the promise of our Lord, that man shall not live by earthly bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Praise the Lord! In Jesus name! Amen.

Maranatha!
