Isaiah 55:6
Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.
Why should anyone seek the Lord? The answer is simple. But before the explanation, let me give you an analogy first. The most influential and the richest person on this earth sends an open invitation inviting everyone to his palace. He also offers to provide a free accommodation and food and money for life to those who accept his invitation. But he inserts a condition by saying that this offer is good only for a certain period of time and after that there will not be an extension of that offer. Perhaps there are some who accept his offer and many of them don’t. The don’ts find out later on that the offer expired some time ago but still want to try accepting the offer but is it not too late to do that?
These days everything is processed and paid through the electronic and digital currency. The bills are paid electronically. If a payment is late by 1 second of the deadline, then a late fee penalty is charged automatically to the account holder. Similarly everyone living on this earth are being warned to accept the invitation from the Lord God who created the Universe, that includes the heavens and the earth and all the living things and beings. The Lord is near to those who call on Him and they can surely find God. But once that window of opportunity closes then there won’t be any more. The Lord is a compassionate God who does not want anyone to be separated from Him. The choice we make on earth decides whether we live with God forever or not. Jesus said in the Gospel of John chapter 14 and verse 6 that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
Isn’t this wonderful news? Our God thoughtfully provided a way for everyone of us who has been separated by the things of this world by showing us the way through Jesus who is not of this world. Let us rejoice today and seek the Lord while He may still be found. In Jesus name! Amen.
Maranatha!
