God’s Word of the Day November 14 2022

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

Rejoice is mentioned 238 times in the Bible. What does rejoice mean? It means to be joyful. To delight. Rejoice, according to Merriam Webster Dictionary, is “to give you” or “to feel joy or great delight,” while to rejoice in means to “have or possess.” So, the Scripture conveys that to rejoice in the Lord is to have joy or delight in the Lord; to feel joy when you think of Him always.

The dwelling place of the Lord is in heaven. The heaven is where there is no place for tears or sorrows. Heaven is a place of joy. Jesus Christ came into this world from heaven to bring peace and joy. The book of the Hebrews writer wrote that who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Apostle Paul did not simply write to rejoice sometimes but said to rejoice always. No matter what our circumstances are, we are to rejoice in the Lord always. Our example is our Lord Jesus Christ. Psalm 37:5 says to delight in the Lord and He will grant the desires of our heart. Let us focus on Jesus and rejoice and rest in Him always. In Jesus name! Amen.

Maranatha!
