Praise the Lord’s mercies
Psalm 103:1
Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
A great way to begin the day is by praising the name of God. And why should we praise His name? Because of His mercies. Now what does it mean by His mercy? Mercy means to have compassion, pity, forgiveness and so on. Every born again believer should learn to bless the Lord for who our God is without getting tired of His name.
Lord Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew 10:28, says “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell”. God the Father has the power over our soul and as well as our body. God went to great lengths to show His mercy by sending His only Son into this world for you and me. Because He loved us so much that God did not want to see us destroyed for eternity.
Now what do we have within us? We have Lord Jesus Christ in us. Every person who receives the free gift of salvation, God sends His Son into us in the form of Holy Spirit the third Person of the Trinity. He dwells in us. He is the same Spirit that was there before the heavens and earth were made. We possess the most precious Person (Godhead) of the Universe. So what kind of manner should we be living? Let us all in this new year bless the Lord with all that we have in our spirit and soul and worship the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
In Jesus precious name! Amen.
Maranatha!
