The New Birth

John 3:3

³ Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

Most assuredly Jesus said, unless one is re-born not by physical birth, but spiritually, only then one can see the kingdom of God. Now how can a person be born again? Generally speaking when a baby is born into this world, for the first time the baby sees new things although doesn’t understand anything at first. The new infant starts to cry signaling that a new and separate life has begun. Separated from the body of the mother, the newborn cry serves to call for care, support, and protection. All this time the baby was in the mother’s womb growing. The job of the newborn infant is to learn, learn and learn. Of course feeding in between and eliminating the waste.

Every person born into this world is not aware of the spiritual realm. When a person is saved by God’s grace through faith, he receives Jesus into his heart, and is sealed by the Holy Spirit. This experience is called being born again.

The instant a person experiences this new birth, he or she is like a newborn baby coming into the world for the first time but does not understand the things of heaven yet. Here the born again believer will begin to learn, learn and learn the spiritual ways of God. Once the person begins to feed on the Word of God, and spend time in prayer, the Holy Spirit the helper will help the new believer to slowly understand the things of God. He will ultimately coach you to spiritual maturity provided you are obedient to God’s Word.
