Be strong in the Lord

Ephesians 6:10

….. be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

It is one thing to go to the gym and lift weights and it is another thing to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. In the story of David and Goliath, Goliath was a very strong and powerful man. The Bible describes him as a giant at a height of six cubits and a span, or about nine feet nine inches tall. He was very fearsome to look at. He was the strength, power and pride of the Philistines.

Goliath and the Philistines were uncircumcised people, meaning they did not belong to God because they did not make the Lord their strength and did not trust in His mighty power. The Philistines believed in their own strength and power. Many people in this world relate themselves with Goliath. Because they are strong, powerful and rich. As a matter of fact many Nations behave this way. They think that they can achieve anything they desire in this world. But little do they know or understand that those who are strong in the Lord like David can achieve mighty things. People of God can win the battles of this world and claim victories. The battle between David and Goliath was God’s victory over evil. David trusted God who is mighty in power for all his needs. David in 1 Samuel 17:45 said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. Those who do not trust in the Lord will eventually fail in their strength.

The only way for a believer is to put his/her trust in the Lord Jesus Christ and be strong in Him. He is the joy of our salvation. For sure He is mighty in power. Him we need to glorify. Nothing is impossible with God. Let us thank God for sending His Son Lord Jesus Christ into this world to save us from our sins. Praise Him. Hallelujah!
