Knowing God Through Love

1 John 4:7

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

The Bible declares that love is of God. It is an attribute of God that we as humans have inherited from God. Love is divine in nature. Every person living on this planet has expressed their love on something or someone. Man was created by God solely based on love but also things around the man were created out of love for man. The book of Genesis says that God made the garden of Eden for Adam and Eve to dwell in it. You see, not only did God create the garden of Eden for Adam to dwell in it but also for God to fellowship with them on a daily basis. God visited Adam at the cool of the day to see how they were doing because God loved them so much.

Adam and Eve did not reciprocate the love of God the way God loved them. Otherwise they would not commit the act of disobedience. The love that is expressed by many in today’s world is nowhere near how God expressed His love toward us. Apostle John says everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Here John is talking about the sacrificial love of God also called the Agape love of God. Meaning God went to great lengths to place the man in the most beautiful garden. God provided them will all kinds of trees for shade and fruits to feed them. God delegated Adam to name all the animals. God trusted Adam 100% because God loved Adam. God even created a helper for Adam.

John writes that the believers have to love one another by reflecting God’s love in each other for love is of God. Let us go back to the cross of Calvary and ponder upon how God brought about life into this world through Jesus Christ because of the love God had for each one of us. Let’s love God for His nature towards us and express love for each other. This is the reason God sent His only Son, our savior Lord Jesus Christ into this world. For God loved us so much, that He would lay all our sins and wrong doings on His Son so that you and me will be set free from disobedience and sinful doings.

Let us praise Him. Hallelujah!

In Jesus precious name! Amen.

Maranatha!
