Flee from Idolatry
1 Corinthians 10:14
14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
What is an idol? It is the worship of someone or something other than God as though it were God. The Word of God forbids to use any kind of object or objects to worship in place of God. Nowhere in the scripture is written to worship images or objects in place of God. John 4:24 says, that God is Spirit and we have to worship Him in spirit and truth.
What is idolatry? It is the worship of idols or extreme admiration of something or person. Today we see many follow movie celebrities, football players, cooks etc., etc. Many people idolize and follow these famous people. They are the diehard fans. The famous people or none of the man made idols can solve man’s problems. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob created this world and everything in it. The wisdom which man possess was given to man by God. But man has misused it for his own purpose thereby corrupting his life. For this reason Jesus Christ came into this world to help us understand who He is and what He can do for us. Therefore let us flee from idolatry and not look into worshipping idols or idolize anyone but be faithful and learn to worship the living God in spirit and truth through Jesus Christ.
In Jesus precious name! Amen.
Maranatha!
