Jesus is all you need
Matthew 11:28
28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Many people labor hard and want to carry burdens on their own not knowing that God can help them. Some people work hard to meet the ends in their lives, some with their marriages and yet some with their health issues and so on. They want to carry their burdens without the help of Jesus thus making them weary. Jesus in Matthew 11:28 is inviting everyone of us to go to Him. All those who are weary and burdened, Jesus says that He will give them rest. Did you know that after a medical procedure or a surgery, doctors require the patient to bed rest for days depending on the nature of the procedure? Sometimes the doctors forcibly induce rest on the patient. Resting renews the physical body, mind and the spirit.
In this world every one of us go through trials and tribulations at one time or another. Jesus Himself said that in this world there will be suffering. These are called the traumas of life. Since the fall of man, man has inherited Adam’s nature and hence reaps the consequences either of his own sinful nature or someone else’s sinful nature. For example when wars are fought due to one person’s rage, nations are affected.
Jesus did not say that He will eliminate the hard labor and heavy burden but instead He said that He will give us the rest for those who come to Him. Most of us carry the heavy burden without a break not knowing that Jesus can give us the rest. Because our minds are filled with anxieties of this world. But if we were to give a minute and go to Jesus for all our problems then Jesus for sure would give us the rest that we deserve. Let us all pause in this rat race and come to Jesus for rest. The rest that Jesus provides gives us us the ability to carry any kind of burden so that we are no longer weary.
May we renew and refresh ourselves in the glory of Jesus Christ for He is the author of rest.
Maranatha!
