God’s Word of the Day February 01 2023

Purpose of Hell (Cont’d from January 27, 2023)

Psalm 9:17

17 The wicked shall be turned into hell,
And all the nations that forget God.

God cast Lucifer out of heaven by hurling him and his army of fallen angels to Earth (Isaiah 14:15); and condemning them ultimately to hell. Let us examine for a moment the reason for Satan’s fall. Isaiah 14:13 says, “For you have said in your heart:” The Devil contemplated to become like God. In the presence of God, unholy thoughts of devil will not prosper. Satan’s only mistake was to say it in his heart. Many times we desire or think to commit acts of evil in our heart. That is enough for God to punish us. Lucifer an angel of high standing in God’s presence was hurled to earth because of his evil thoughts. He wanted to ascend into heaven, exalt his throne above the stars of God; Sit on the mount of the congregation; Ascend above the heights of the clouds, and become like the Most High God.

Today in this world there are many imitators of Satan. They have the power, money and can influence nations or sway them with their ideas. Some of them are researching to find a way to live forever. Some of them want to rule the nations under one world government. Some of them want to fly to the Mars and settle there. Some of them worry about the climate change and want to enforce new laws that affect day to day lives. All of the above ideas have one common factor. Pride. Lucifer was filled with pride when he was with God in heaven. He thought that he could become equal to God.

That is the reason Jesus Christ taught to guard the intents of our hearts. Matthew 15:19, Jesus said, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts …” Contemplating to do bigger and better things than God who created this Universe. Just the idea in itself can bring God’s wrath on the entire humanity. The nations that rebel against God are forgotten by God. Some of the Old Testament period Cities were wiped out without a trace by God because of their disobedience towards Him. Pride was their prosperity. Today they are found nowhere. The Bible clearly warns those who want to live an unholy life pleasing themselves and others. God’s Word never changes. If He said something thousands of years ago, it is still valid today. Truth never changes. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. The only person we are to please is Lord Jesus Christ. He should be first in our lives.

Psalm 9:17 says, that all nations that forget God will be turned into hell. The wrath of God is around the corner. Coming to a nation(s) sooner than we think. Whoever does not do the will of God is in the direct path of God’s wrath. No one escapes His judgements. Let us not choose the path of wickedness but rather choose the path of wisdom. May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless you all!

Maranatha!
