In the beginning

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God ………

The third person in Adam and Eve’s wedding was God. God ordained the first wedding of the first couple. Since the whole earth is filled with men and women that He created, God’s blessing of becoming fruitful and multiply applies to the entire humanity irrespective of nations, tribes or tongues. People have formed the so called religions. Once again this shows that there is one God and His name is Jesus Christ, the God in flesh. There are blessings and curses that God spoke in the beginning that apply to His creation. For example, God appointed the sun to bring forth light and heat that affects the entire planet earth. Because Adam and Eve disobeyed God, God appointed man to work hard by the sweat of his brow throughout his life to bring bread to the table. Similarly God appointed woman to go into labor called the birth pains before a child is delivered. This is the truth and no man can ever change it. Even today every man has no choice but to work hard and every woman who is pregnant with child will have to go through the labor pains.

God’s exerts sovereignty over His creation. No not one can escape His ordinances. These are called the ‘in the beginning ordinances’. I have listed only a few of them as references as I am only scratching the surface for now.

Now we let’s see what caused Adam and Eve to rebel against God’s orders. In order to understand how this happened, another subject called the serpent enters the scene. We will take few minutes and study about the serpent. Hebrew for “snake”, is also associated with divination, including the verb form meaning “to practice divination or fortune-telling”. Satan entered the serpent, a real creature, for the purpose of deceiving Eve. The tempter used his craftiness to cause them to sin. God permitted Adam and Eve to be tested, but He certainly did not encourage them to sin or force them to sin. They could have resisted the temptation if they so desired. Ultimately it was their fault for not resisting the temptation. (Cont’d)

May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless us all!

Maranatha!
