In the beginning

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God ………

Jesus says in John 8:44, “He (Satan) was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” God did not ask the serpent for explanation. Similarly the children belonging to this world when they do evil things, God is not going to question them why they are doing bad things. Instead God’s wrath follows them. Before God cursed the serpent the snake was minding its own business perhaps. A similar story that we are familiar with it is in the New Testament when Jesus cast out the demons from two men. The demons begged Jesus that they be sent into the herd of pigs. The end result is that the pigs ran into a steep place into the sea and perished. This will be story of every person who is deceived by the devil and his followers. In the above story we see that the pigs were innocent.

The second thing that happened was that God cursed the serpent more than every beast of the field. The difference between the cattle and the beast of the field is that cattle is a livestock animal or domesticated animal whereas the beast of the field are the wild animals. This means the serpent lost its privilege. The purpose for which the snake was created was lost. When God made the heavens and the earth, He took so much care in forming them. He loved His creation. God did not neglect anything in the process of making this beautiful Universe. God is Holy and nothing unholy stands in His presence. He is not the God of chaos but of order. Every time we see a snake we are reminded of God’s curse on that reptile.

Did you know that God created man for a purpose? The purpose was for man to fellowship and worship God at all times. God did not make mistake in making the man but because man allowed the devil to deceive him, God’s wrath is on every child that is born into this world. Just like God cursed the serpent, God multiplied the sorrows of Eve and because of Adam’s disobedience God cursed the ground. That is the reason the only way out of this to believe in the Son of God. Whoever believes in Jesus will not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus died for the just and the unjust. This is the truth. (Cont’d)

May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless us all!

Maranatha!
