God’s Word of the Day February 22 2023

In the beginning

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God ………

Genesis 2:9: And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

The Bible declares that God made every tree grow in the garden was pleasant to look and also good to eat. The Bible does not define the size of the garden of Eden but says that in the middle of the garden were two trees. One was the tree of life and the other was the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God’s Word does not mention the distance between these two trees. But since they both were in the middle section of the garden we can safely say that they were near to each other or one can easily locate and identify the two trees.

God made every tree that was pleasant to the sight and good for food. In other words God decided on behalf of Adam and Eve how they should not have to search for anything. God made everything available to the first couple. He made life easy for them. Adam did not have lift his finger for anything. Nothing was short in Adam’s life as God took care of even the minute details. All they had to do was to fellowship with God. In today’s world that live in, we experience a similar situation in our lives. God is saying to us, that He will do everything on our behalf. All we have to do is to cast our cares on Jesus and He will do the rest. God always expects us to adopt His method or His way. He knows the best for us and not the other way around.

The first couple missed this truth and so are we. Many times we neglect God’s truth and invite various troubles into our lives. We want to choose the best way for our convenience purposes and not the God’s way. In the above passage Genesis 2:9, God’s plan was clearly different from Adam and Eve’s plan. As innocent as it may sound, breaking God’s commandment whether knowingly or unknowingly is not acceptable. It is not acceptable even in the earthly courts of law then how can God accept it. His court is the highest in the Universe where justice will be served without partiality unlike the earthly courts where corruption and political bias play a big role. (Cont’d)

May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bless us all!
