In the beginning

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens …..

Acts 1:10-11 describes: And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? When it was time for our Lord to leave the earth and go to His place in heaven, the people that surrounded Him started to gaze at Him. The hierarchy of heaven is that heaven itself is the highest and farthest place from earth. The highest form of authority in heaven is God Himself. He rules and reigns over the entire universe. Deuteronomy 10:14 says, “Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it.”

Heaven is not an imaginary place as many think. It is a place where God dwells. The Bible describes in Philippians 3:20 that our citizenship is in heaven. By this we say that heaven is a place of dwelling. The whole purpose of living in this world is to prepare ourselves to be with the Lord where there won’t be any room for tears or for sorrows, there will not be anymore death and sickness. All of these things are considered as former things. The former things came into existence because of one man’s disobedience to God’s commandments. When our Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose on the third day, He conquered the death and destroyed it.

Every believer who has accepted the free gift of salvation is heaven bound. Heaven is described as a place of perfection in every way that we can think of. If man is able to invent a microprocessor chip that can execute millions of commands in a second, imagine how much more can God do in heaven. After all man’s intelligence is a God given gift to us. That is the reason 1 Corinthians 2:9 says, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Man is unable to comprehend what God has prepared for us in heaven. May our Lord Jesus be glorified and magnified in all things. Amen.

Maranatha!
