The Resurrection Sunday
Luke 24:46: Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
Unless the Lord chooses to open our minds no one is able to understand the purpose for which Lord Jesus was sent into this world. A similar instance occurred after the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Early in the morning the scripture says in Luke chapter 24, that the women came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen!
The truth is that when our Lord Jesus was on the earth ministering to His own disciples said that He would be put to death and be crucified on the cross and on the third day that He would rise again. Even though the disciples heard and the women heard, they couldn’t comprehend. When these women saw the empty tomb, they were in shock. Later, we find out that there were two other men one named Cleopas, on the road to Emmaus which was seven miles from Jerusalem walked with our Lord Jesus not knowing who our Lord was. Luke describes in verse 16, “But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him.” It is not easy finding Jesus Christ. Many people of this world portray and confess to know Jesus but in fact they don’t. If they knew Jesus they would not go after the world. Verse 27 describes: “And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.” Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. Similarly our Lord Jesus chose to open His disciples understanding as it says in verse 45: “And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.”
Many religions of this world compare Lord Jesus Christ as a great person. He is compared with other men of this world but in fact He is the God in flesh. Through Him was this world and everything in it was created. The power He holds entirely belongs to Him. He does not need anyone’s help. After the resurrection His own people did not recognize Him. In order to recognize Jesus we need to accept His authority and sovereignty over this creation. His Office is of the Highest Order. There is no one above Him. He rules and reigns. Everyone else who came after Jesus Christ the Messiah claiming to be god(s) are counterfeits.
May we all celebrate and worship our risen savior Lord Jesus Christ this Easter Sunday. As our Lord promised He conquered the death. Death had no power over King Jesus. He is the risen savior. King of kings and Lord of lords. Amen and Amen.
Maranatha!
