Ephesians 4:17
This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, ……….
Apostle Paul’s epistle to the Ephesians warns the believers that they no longer should walk as the rest of the Gentiles. In other words Paul goes on to say this: Live no longer as the unsaved do, for they are blinded and confused. Their closed hearts are full of darkness; they are far away from the life of God because they have shut their minds against him, and they cannot understand his ways. Every Christian would agree to this truth that Paul was speaking about.
When a Christian for the first time confesses with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in his heart that God has raised Him from the dead, he will be saved according to Romans chapter 10 verse 9. And in verse 10 for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise. The Spirit of God has now made His dwelling place in that person.
The world and everything that exists in this world was created by God, the Triune God. Jesus Christ said that He was the light of the World in John chapter 8 vs 12. In Psalm 119 vs 105: Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. Isaiah 9 vs 2: The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light talking about the promised Son. 1 Thessalonians 5 vs 5: You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
Paul calls the people who do not know Christ as Gentiles or non-believers. Any person who has not invited Jesus Christ into their heart will not be able to experience the light of Jesus Christ. No matter what language a person speaks or what tribe he belongs to or what nation he is from, they all originated from one man Adam who was formed by God Himself. Unless and until man invites Jesus into his life, he cannot experience the light or the presence of God. For darkness rules the heart of that person until that time. When the heart of a man is filled with darkness, they are far away from the life of God. Without the light of God, one cannot understand the Words of God. Only the Holy Spirit living inside of us is able help understand the Word of God. The Holy Spirit not only helps us understand our standing with God but also convicts us on a daily basis thus showing our weaknesses and enabling our dependency on God through Christ our Messiah.
May all the glory and honor belong to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Until next time. In Jesus name. Amen.
