Philippians 2:14
Do all things without complaining and disputing,
Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Philippians is exhorting the believers to do all things without complaining or arguing. One of the biggest problem with mankind is that they are always complaining about something. In some cases they argue even though they are wrong trying to prove their point. The world that we live in and the people that live in this world have something in common. People are never happy about anything not only in their lives but also point finger in other peoples lives.
When we go back to the root cause of this problem to the garden of Eden, we see that Eve complained that the serpent deceived her. Adam complained that Eve gave him the fruit. From that point onward the complaining began. Not only the accusation began but also arguments began. If we further check Abel and Cain’s story, we find out that Cain was not too happy when God accepted Abel’s offering over his offering. After Cain murdered his brother Abel, he grumbled against God saying that he was not his brother’s guardian.
Man is on a mission of endless quest. If he faces hurdles in his life, then he begins to grumble and murmur. This is the nature that has been carried over from generation to generation. When we face the difficulties of life, it is obvious that we tend to lose patience. Once we lose the patience, we begin to complain. Complain to others and if one believes in some kind of god, begin to show anger towards God and so on. Complaining in itself is a sin and needs to curbed at the initial stages. Otherwise that will lead into other aspects like loosing temper, argue endlessly stressing our minds and bodies to extreme exertion and thus leading into uncontrollable depression and so on.
One of the basic principles of Christianity is that when a Christian becomes a true born again believer, he or she relies only on Christ for all his or her needs. Once a Christian establishes this truth, there would not be a need to seek for answers elsewhere. If Christ is the only source then since everything is in Him, there wouldn’t be any need for us to complain or argue about. In Him we will find answers to the problems we face everyday, whether it is trials or tribulations, or any other temptations that we go through, we have to learn to submit all of the problems we face at His feet. Then we will not give any opportunity to the weaknesses we face everyday. Christ will indeed touch us and teach us to do everything without complaining and without arguments.
Hallelujah! Praise God and Praise our Lord Jesus Christ. Until next time. In Jesus precious name. Amen.
Maranatha!
