John 17:3

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Many times people wonder about the eternal life. What is eternal life? Here is the answer from our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said that eternal life is to know the Father, the only true God and His Son Jesus Christ whom the Father sent into this world. Why is eternal life so crucial for any person living on this earth? It is like asking why do we need to breathe? Can anyone survive without breathing for a few minutes? The answer is NO. Similarly any person that does not know the Father even for a few minutes is like spiritually separated from life. You see when God created the heavens and the earth, He did not create nothing that was dead. He set everything in motion continuously. Once the things are set into motion they cannot be stopped. Scientists often lie by saying the earth is warming or getting cold by a degree and hence call for global warming alarm. They have no idea of who God is and capable of.

The blood in our bodies circulates continuously without taking any break. So does the heart that pumps the blood. So does every part of our body. The only time they stop is when the person stops breathing. It is a non-stop process. This happens to all the animals, birds, sea creatures, waves, all the vegetation, wind and seasons and so on. The earth is always spinning, the sun is always shinning and so are rest of the stars and planets. The Father is always at work. He never sleeps nor slumbers. Our Lord Jesus Christ is always at work. There’s always worship that is going on in the heaven without a recess. The angels are continuously worshipping the Lord. There’s a non-stop heavenly chorus praise in heaven that is taking place as I am writing this blog.

See in heaven, there’s no devil, there are no tears, there are no troubles, there are no evil thoughts, there are no trials, there are no tribulations, there’s no tomorrow, there’s no yesterday, there’s no time, there’s no space, there’s no devastation, no need to toil for food or how to earn money. In this world all of the precious metals can be purified to a maximum of 99.99% purity. In heaven everything is 100% pure refined by the glory of God through His Son Jesus Christ.

Heaven is the place where we get to be with the Father for eternity. But how can one achieve this eternity? The Gospel of John chapter 17 verse 2, Jesus declared that only the Son can give eternal life. Eternal life is just that – eternal. It means “forever”. It means when life ends here, it continues somewhere else. The Bible uses the phrase in a positive sense. It is a quality of life that begins on earth and continues in heaven. Without this eternal life one cannot see God the Father. Only Jesus has been given the authority to lead us to His Father.
