What is the truth of God? Can God lie? The answer is NO. God cannot lie. Otherwise He is not what He calls Himself to be. Numbers chapter 23 verse 19 declares that “God is not a man, that He should lie”. God is a Holy God. Leviticus 19 vs 2 God spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to all the congregation of the people of Israel and say to them, You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy. Holy means consecrated or set apart. Hebrews 12 vs 14 says that without holiness no one will see the Lord.

The Lord God gave explicit instructions to Moses to share it with the Israelites. When God created the earth and everything in it, He Himself was the reference point. Because He built the earth from scratch. I am reminded of a plumb line. A plumb line is used to find the line of gravity. A heavy object of lead is tied on one end of the thread and when it is held freely using the hand or tied to a stick, due to the weight hanging at the bottom always points towards the earth’s gravity. The plumb line is always in perpendicular to the surface of the earth. In carpentry, masonry, and architectural design, the plumb line is a definitive means of measuring a line that is perfectly straight up and down with gravity. It can never go wrong.

Spiritually the plumb line points to God and God only. The Word of God has no wiggling room for concessions. It is always 100% accurate no matter what season we are living in. Ever since the fall of man, man has learned to lie. To cover a single lie, he lied again and again. Man decided to change the Words of God to his own convenience. To suit his needs man adopted the Word of God and modified it to please himself and his family. It began in the garden of Eden when the devil said to the woman, “Did God really say that you shouldn’t eat from any tree in the garden?”

Since the beginning of this creation God gave man the gift of craftmanship and all the other things necessary for man to survive. So, instead of man accepting God as his plumb line, he decided to become his own reference point. When that happened there’s no one to guide the man on the right path. Man thinks that he knows better than God but in fact he does not know that he is a miserable creature without the hand of God in his life.

Apostle Paul described in the Epistle to the Romans chapter one verse 18: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and injustice of those men that detain the truth of God in injustice. As I mentioned earlier if any man builds a structure without using the plumb line, that structure is surely going to crash and crumble into pieces. Today we see that there’s so much of chaos in the world that no one cares to follow the truth of God. Instead they tend to follow their own methods thinking that they are way better than God the creator. When men exchange the truth of God for the lie, that is not going to last as some think. The fierce wrath of God is coming soon and all those who exchanged the truth for the lies will be in for a great reset. More next time.
