Romans 1:23

They exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images that look like mortal humans: birds, animals, and reptiles.

After the fall of man which is also called as the original sin, the Bible describes that Adam and Eve were driven out of the garden of Eden. Garden of Eden was a place where God used to meet Adam and Eve. Consequently God also cursed Adam’s son Cain after Cain murdered Abel due to jealousy. God said to Cain, “When you try to farm the land, it won’t produce anything for you. From now on, you’ll be without a home, and you’ll spend the rest of your life wandering from place to place.”

The above saying is from verse twelve of Genesis chapter four. This verse has severe spiritual significance even today. Any person who deliberately disobeys God’s Word is a cursed person. God’s curse will remain on that person, until He seeks God’s forgiveness and repents of his sin. It is a grave mistake to ignore the commands of God, that are placed in our lives for our own benefit. Even the ground will reject the person who does not fear God. Apart from this, the person will not have the peace of mind and will become a vagabond or a wanderer. That’s the reason the people of this world who do not know Christ are always going through some kind of emotional stress. They are not stable at one place or one marriage and are always looking for something new. Not knowing God through Jesus Christ in itself is a curse.

Since the beginning God chose a particular type of people whom He loved. The rest of the people God let loose. These are the people who walked away from the laws of God. Walking away from the laws of God means to live a life of lawlessness. These people began to invent their own gods. They began to carve wood to look like human figures, animal, and bird and reptile figures. These are called idols. An idol by definition is an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship. The idol(s) neither can hear nor talk and are therefore worthless objects. This is the reason a person who becomes a born again Christian needs to fellowship with fellow believers or else, they can easily get lost just like everybody else. The farther one goes away from God the closer he gets to finding a new idol to worship. Today in this world many people want to abandon the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This is because if they get close to Jesus then they would have let go of their ego, their fame, their idols etcetera.

Knowing the true God is not easy as many think. One has to accept Christ as his personal savior by first repenting of his sins and seek forgiveness from God and be cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. There are many religions in the world today that encourage idol worshipping. There are also other religions that don’t worship the idols but encourage worshipping a totally different god that is not of the Bible. They think that they know everything but they are one hundred percent wrong. Without following Jesus Christ no one can know who the true God is. This is one hundred percent correct and this is the truth.

The Word of God declares that anyone worshipping idols or worshipping false gods are exchanging the glory of the immortal God with an object that has no life. They will be dealt with a fierce wrath of God that will come upon the entire earth soon. The reason this article is written because God does not want anyone to perish but to have everlasting life in eternity. It might sound harsh but God lovingly invites everyone of us to be with Him through His Son Jesus Christ.

Jesus said, “let not your heart be troubled you believe in God, believe also in Me.” A person has to believe in Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the way, the truth and the life and no man can come to the Father except through Him. More next time.
