God’s Word of the Day May 23 2023 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Romans 3:23

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Praying the rosary is promoted within the Catholic Church as a means of strengthening one’s faith, resisting evil, growing spiritually, and generally benefiting society. The “Hail Mary” and portions of the “Hail, Holy Queen” are blatantly unbiblical. While the first part of the Hail Mary is almost a direct quotation from Luke 1:28, there is no scriptural basis for (1) praying to Mary, (2) addressing her as “holy,” or (3) calling her “our life” and “our hope.” Besides that, nowhere in the Bible is mentioned to pray or worship any other person other than God through Christ Jesus. Worshipping or praying to Mary is just as good as worshipping Satan.

Praying the rosary involves giving attributes to Mary that the Bible never gives her. To call Mary “holy”—the Catholic Church teaches that Mary never sinned or had any taint of original sin—is not biblical. They blatantly lie. The Bible calls all believers “saints,” which can be interpreted as “holy ones,” but Scripture says that the righteousness believers have is the imputed righteousness from Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). In this life, no one is yet sanctified from sin in practice (1 John 1:9—2:1). Jesus is called our Savior repeatedly in Scripture because He saved us from our sin. In Luke 1:47, Mary calls God her “Savior.” Savior from what? A sinless person does not need a Savior. Sinners need a Savior. Mary acknowledged that God was her Savior. Therefore, Mary acknowledged that she was a sinner.

After Peter the apostle’s demise, the early church popes began to distort the pure Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus to their own advantage. They created their own style of Bible called the Catholic Bible to suit their needs. They added so much of unnecessary doctrines and called them Catechisms. They created a hierarchy of leadership where pope would be the highest authority after God Himself. If pope said something that would be like God speaking to the billion Catholics across the world.

In a “Catechism of Christian Doctrine” approved by Cardinal Vaughan and the bishops of England, six Commandments of the Church were enumerated. These are:

  • to keep the Sundays and Holy Days of obligation holy, by hearing Mass and resting from servile work;
  • to keep the days of fasting and abstinence appointed by the Church;
  • to go to confession at least once a year;
  • to receive the Blessed Sacrament at least once a year and that at Easter or thereabouts;
  • to contribute to the support of our pastors;
  • not to marry within a certain degree of kindred nor to solemnize marriage at the forbidden times.

Another aspect of RC’s is that they participate in what they call as Ash Wednesday. The Bible says nothing about Ash Wednesday and Lent. While it is true that some Old Testament saints put ashes on their bodies in times of mourning, the Bible never tells us to apply ashes to our body or forehead because Jesus died and was raised from the dead to life. The application of using ashes, along with sackcloth, during periods of mourning was an ancient practice. Some early popes fabricated this idea of Ash Wednesday. Some claim that Ash Wednesday has pagan origins. Whatever the origin, it is not based in scripture. Ash Wednesday was adopted by the Roman Catholic Church at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD.

As Bible believing believers we are to worship only the living God at all times through His Son Jesus Christ. There’s no benefit for Christians to apply ash on their foreheads unless to show off. Majority of the Catholics blindly follow the traditions that the early popes implemented. If one were to ask questions about these traditions they are immediately shutdown by the clergy. For ages the Vatican has been practicing and following the wrong doctrines and instituting false hope to their followers.

According to the scriptures, the Holy Trinity consists of God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. In the Book of revelation, the unholy trinity are Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet. While the Holy Trinity is characterized by infinite truth, love, and goodness, the unholy trinity portrays the diametrically opposite traits of deception, hatred, and unadulterated evil.

The Bible describes in Matthew chapter 7 verse 22-23: Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

To be continued …

May we give thanks to God the Father through Jesus Christ for enabling us to understand what it means to seek the glory of God.

In Jesus name. Amen.

Maranatha!
