Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

All wrong doing is sin. God has given every person the ability to choose between right and wrong. Many times people argue saying that depends on how we see it. Everyone’s perspective is different. For example if a father is a burglar, growing up his son would think that it is okay to be a burglar. Today’s world says that doing the right thing is wrong and doing the wrong thing is right. God established the moral laws from the beginning for man to follow and obey them but man decided to break them. God’s nature never changes. He is same yesterday, today and forever.

When a man’s heart is far away from God, he looses the ability to distinguish between the good and bad, between right and wrong. This allows man to think without any restrictions. When a homosexual thinks that he has a right to choose another man as his partner, he is dishonoring God. This person is saying to God that he doesn’t care what God thinks or wants. When someone dishonors God by their actions, that means they are committing sin against God. Our God is a long suffering God. The lifespan that God gives to each person is not meant to be wasted on unproductive and worthless things and fantasies. God’s love and His nature is visible throughout the creation. What if God stops the seasons changing and if only summer that lasts for forever. Then everything under the sun gets burned leaving with ashes all over the world.

What if only the winter that lasts forever? Then all the vegetation will die and there won’t be any new growth. People will die of cold and so on. The Lord has placed the seasons in our life for a purpose. Similarly there are other things that God has placed for man to go through them. One of them is marriage between a man and a woman. In today’s world there are many who have compromised with the worldview and are unable to define what a woman is. One wonders how this is possible. It is possible because every person that is not able to tell the difference between a man and a woman or between male and female human being is lost in sin. Sin causes a person to lose their state of mind. Sin’s stronghold can shake the entire world.

Take for example the country of China. It has a population of 1.5 billion people of which many of them have no idea of who God is. They are taught to worship their country’s leader. Neither the leader or his followers have any idea how this universe works or who controls the universe. Although they have advanced scientifically and technologically, they are clueless when it comes to knowing who Jesus Christ is. It is because sin plays a major role in blinding the people seeking the true God the creator of heavens and the earth. The entire earth belongs to God and out of His mercy and His grace God allows people from every tribe and tongue to flourish. Everyone on the earth that has ever lived has trespassed on His land. All have broken the law of God. It is God who allots each person the time and space where they should live and for how long they should live. If anyone owns a piece of land and someone else walks on that land without the owners permission, it is called trespassing and is punishable by law.

Think of it in a different way. The food that we eat, the job that we work, the money that we earn, the families that we have, the land that we live on, none of this belongs to us. All of it has been given to us by God out of His abundant mercy. Yes. There is a certain system that we go through to acquire all of the above mentioned things but that system has been established by God Himself. Sin hardens the hearts of men and gives them the pride. That’s the reason man fails to thank God, instead he thanks himself and pats his back. It is me, myself and I policy that separates God and man.

May we give thanks to God the Father through Jesus Christ for enabling us to understand what it means to earn the wages of sin and how to seek the glory of God.
