1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

¹⁶ For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. ¹⁷ Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. ¹⁸ Therefore comfort one another with these words.

The Antichrist signs a covenant for seven years with the nation of Israel. This is the event that inaugurates the seven year Tribulation period. The conclusion from the previous blog is that post tribulation rapture is not a viable option. Christ’s second coming is a separate event and not to be confused with the rapture of the Church. They do not conflict with each other. During this time, as it says in the scripture during Christ’s second coming the sun will be darkened and the moon will not shine. All the armies of this world are joined to wage war against Israel and this is when Lord Jesus Christ’s second coming will occur. The war between Jesus and His enemies that is fought on the plains of Megiddo also called the war of Armageddon will be avenged by the Lord Himself with His breath which is sharper than a double edged sword. He will destroy all the enemies during this final battle.

Daniel 9 verse 27 says:

²⁷ Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

Daniel chapter nine verse twenty seven speaks of the inauguration of the Tribulation period. Continuing in the same verse by the time three and half years have passed, the Antichrist will bring an end to sacrifice and offering. In order for the sacrifice and offering to occur the third temple needs to built or re-built even before the Tribulation period begins. One has to understand that the sacrifice and offering at the temple is for the Jewish people only. The view point that the rapture of the Church happens at the mid-tribulation does not add up. Because the beginning of the Tribulation period, there will be lot of unrest in the world. This is due to the fact that when Israel ignores the world powers warning not to build the third temple, they go ahead and build it anyway. As the world powers become unstable the Antichrist comes to the scene promising peace and stability in the Middle East region.

Before the Antichrist’s arrival the body of believers will be raptured in the pre-tribulation period thus leaving to more chaos and confusion. Apostle Paul ends in verse eighteen encouraging the believers to comfort one another until that time with these words. So, as a reminder we are to comfort one another that our time is drawing near for our redemption.

Let us look forward to meet Christ in the mid-air real soon.

May we all give thanks to God the Father through Jesus Christ for removing us from the hour of trial which is going to come upon this world. That time is called the Tribulation period. For the wrath of God will be poured like never before during that time.
