1 Samuel 12:24
24 Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.
The Word of God is very clear. The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not live in temples made by man, nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all mankind life and breath and everything. And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Every living human being God expects them to fear and serve Him alone. In the Gospel of John chapter four verse twenty four, Christ Jesus declared that God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.
No one can serve two masters. No one can serve God and the devil thinking that they can get away. In the world we live, many people think that it is okay to lead a double life. They practice evil things in life. They also practice a form of godliness but denying its power. And some of them who call themselves Christians, their lives are filled with vastly unchristian activities. As long as they don’t get caught it is okay for them to do evil things in the sight of God.
The Bible says that we need to fear the Lord and serve Him in truth. That’s the reason we need to examine our faith everyday. No one is going to escape the judgement of God. The reason for which Christ came into this world was to set us free from our sinful nature and save us from the coming wrath of God. He died on our behalf so that you and I could be saved from the eternal damnation of God. Many who reject the idea of eternal damnation do so because they find it difficult to believe that a loving God could banish people to a place as horrific as hell for all eternity. However, God’s love does not negate His justice, His righteousness, or His holiness. Neither does His justice negate His love. In fact, God’s love has provided the way to escape His wrath: the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
May we all give thanks to God the Father through Jesus Christ for setting us free and giving us the eternal life.
In Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Maranatha!
