1 Samuel 12:24

²⁴ Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.

For the last few days we have been studying about the fear of the Lord, serving Him in truth and serving Him will all our heart. Now we come to a point to give an account of the great things that the Lord has done for each of us. Can you count on how many things that God does for one person? This lifetime will not be enough to count the number of things that the Almighty God has done for us. Every born again Christian believer if he truly understands the true meaning of what born again means will show his or her gratitude not only in this life but the life that is yet to come called the eternal life.

There are many things that man cannot comprehend. There are many things that are visible to the naked eye that man cannot grasp. Then there are many invisible things that man cannot grasp or understand. Now let us circle back to the great things that God has done for us. Let us begin first by saying although this is in no way an exhaustive list:

1. The way He has brought us into the world He created
2. The way He has made us
3. The way He has made us into a living being
4. Long before the world was created He foreknew us
5. Long before the world was created He foreknew the time and season of when we would be born into this world
6. Long before the world was created He foreknew who our parents would be
7. Long before the world was created He foreknew the tribe and the tongue of our language
8. Long before the world was created He foreknew how and when we would give our life to Christ
9. Long before the world was created God foreknew who you would marry
10. Long before the world was created God foreknew our children, our children’s children
11. Long before the world was created God foreknew when He was going to call us to glory
12. The love of God is endless has no limit
13. The truth of God is boundless
14. The mercy of God is as high as the heavens
15. The grace of God is unfathomable
16. The food that He has been providing for centuries to our ancestors without whom we wouldn’t exist today
17. The blessings that He has been providing for ages
18. The protection that the Lord Almighty gives to each one of us
19. He watches our coming and our going
20. All the generations God carefully and precisely manages to bring about the next generation
21. The way we breath in and out
22. The way we enjoy in the presence of God
23. The light that our Lord shines everyday morning that is the sunlight
24. The darkness that the Lord created so that every creature can rest
25. The rain that the Lord sends so that the grass grows so that wild beasts can eat
26. The food that the Lord provides to all the animals of the field, the sea creatures and the birds of the air
27. The seasons that the Lord has created for man to go through by renewing his Spirit
28. God created not only the hills for the people to dwell but also created the valleys for people to dwell
29. Did you consider how good our God is? He forgets all our iniquities
30. He will not harbor His anger forever
31. He will not allow our feet to strike the stone
32. He will never leave us nor forsake us
33. He is our shield and buckler

The list goes on and on. So, what is your excuse today in serving the Lord?

Lord God Almighty, words are not enough to describe Your love for us. Thank you heavenly Father for all the blessings in Christ Jesus.
