John 14:18
18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
There are many who profess to be Christians but when they face a certain problem of the life, they are quick to denounce their faith and lose hope in the Lord. For they do not understand the power of God. Not only do these individuals freak out but they run away and try to resolve the problem on their own. They simply underestimate the supernatural power of the Lord God Almighty.
Have you ever seen a little child when he or she gets hurt or when someone snatches a toy from their hands, they immediately cry and run to their parents and complain. The kids know that the parents are the only answer to solve their problems. Why? It is because they trust their parents to be the providers of everything. A Christian believer in every way is like a little child. Whenever the believer senses danger, or when someone is trying to snatch something that is precious to them, they need to immediately run to God and bring it to His attention. For He is our Father who is in heaven. A believer is a child of God of the most high.
There are many people in this world who have lost both their parents either in an accident or died of other causes. Cases like these when the child grows without the parents are called as orphans. A child that grows without the parents has a lasting impact. As Christian believers we all have one Father.
In the above verse taken from the Gospel of John chapter fourteen verse eighteen, Lord Jesus said that He will not leave us as orphans but He will come to us. How beautiful are these Words of assurance from our Lord? This is what our Lord Jesus is speaking about. He loves us so dearly that it is impossible for someone to reject His offer. His love will supersede the love of our own parents in our lives. Many times we don’t understand the circumstances of this life. No matter whatever the case is, those who are born again believers have a Father who watches over us and answers our daily need. Philippians chapter four verse nineteen says this:
Philippians 4 verse 19:
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
When a child is growing up, the parents supply the child’s needs. Similarly when a believer is growing up in Christ, God the Father through His Son Christ Jesus supplies our needs. How does a believer know what his needs are? The answer is simply that the third Person or the Holy Spirit residing in us will make the call on our behalf. We have to allow Him to do His job in our heart.
Galatian 4 verse 6 and 7 says:
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
The above verse from Galatians allows us to become the sons of God because God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts thereby making us no longer the orphans but heirs of His kingdom.
Lord God Almighty, words are not enough to describe your love for us. Thank you heavenly Father for all the blessings in Christ Jesus.
In Jesus mighty name. Amen.
Maranatha!
