Psalm 103:2
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
Yesterday we saw how God allows our bodies to grow from a baby stage to an old man. We also saw how a seed when buried into the ground grows into a mighty tree. Today we are going to see what it means to be buried into the ground. Burying someone after their death happens only one time. People don’t bury the dead again and again. Once a dead person is buried, the loved ones will never get to see that person again.
Lord Jesus Christ came into this world to die for our sins and to save us from the impending wrath that is about to come on this entire world. Literally Christ died for once and was buried in the grave. On the third day just as He said, He rose from the grave conquering the death. Romans chapter six verse two says this:
Romans 6 verse 2:
2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?
Those who have accepted Christ as their personal Savior have buried their old self with Christ and have been resurrected with Christ with a new self. The new self is the new creation created in the likeness of God given to us by God through His Son Lord Jesus Christ.
This is the greatest benefit that we as true born again believers have received from God, who is the creator of this beautiful Universe. The benefit that the believers receive is for everlasting. So, if we claim to have died along with Christ, how come we continue to sin? No one who claims to be born again should never ever think of sinning let alone committing sin. Even the thought of sinning should not occur in their minds. Many Christians do not ever understand this truth. They will continue to sin and justify it by blaming on their weaknesses of addiction to alcohol, or pornography, or gambling or other lustful thoughts and of course divorce is included.
The Psalmist King David, in the above verse Psalm 103 verse 2 is pleading his soul to bless the Lord at all times. The Word of God is written not only for the past souls but also for the current and the future souls to read, meditate and apply it in our daily walk with the Lord. The Word of God is not be taken lightly. This is what the Word of God says in second Timothy chapter three verse sixteen:
2 Timothy 3:16:
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
Every Word in the scripture benefits His children. The Word of God is not for those outside of Christ. Only those who have been purchased by the blood of the Lamb are eligible to receive the benefits of Christ. Unless and until we become born again believers we are unable to understand the benefits of God and how He blesses us.
What is your excuse to forget all the benefits that God has blessed you with? Narrow mindedness allows us not to see the benefits from God.
Seek Christ today and begin to bless Him and thank the Father for all the benefits that you have received from Him. In return He will bless us with abundant blessings that our cup will run over and cannot contain it.
May we glorify King Jesus Christ who is so worthy of all honor. Make Jesus as the Lord of your life today. In Jesus name. Amen.
Maranatha!
