What’s in a name?

Philippians 2:10

¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 

What is in a name you might ask? The history of naming began with God’s creation. When God created the first man, He named him Adam and so it began. All the animals of this world have a name. All the birds of the air have a name. All the sea creatures are identified by names. Every human being after Adam have names. Name is an identification by which a being is identified.

If a person is a male, he is identified by one name and if it is a female she is identified by a different name. Luke 1:31-32 says, “And behold, you (Mary) will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. ³² He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.” 

What is it in a name? SATAN TREMBLES AT THE NAME OF JESUS! “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8. The name of Jesus means Jehovah is salvation. Salvation is deliverance from sin and its consequences, brought about by faith in Christ.

What is it in a name? Everything is in the Name. JESUS, the name above every name. At the name of Jesus, every knee will bow down of those in heaven, and of those on earth and of those under the earth. The summary of the above verse is that Jesus Christ has authority over everything. He is the sovereign Lord over the entire creation. Nothing escapes from Him. The angels in heaven have to fall on their knees and worship Him. Every person living on this planet has to fall on their knees and bow down to Him. Every dead person since the beginning of the creation will fall on their knees and bow down to the Lord God Jesus Christ. If you are still on the fence about knowing Jesus Christ now would be a great time to fall on the knees and ask for forgiveness.
