God’s Word of the Day August 25 2023 Blessed are those whose lawless deeds

Romans 4:7

7 “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven,
And whose sins are covered;

Many times in our lives, when we pray we ask for many blessings without even realizing that the greatest blessing that a believer receives from God is that our lawless deeds have been forgiven. Now let us examine what lawless deed means? Lawless means being without law; uncontrolled by a law; unbridled; unruly; unrestrained: lawless passion. The crimes are committed by people around the world who have no respect of law. God gave laws to Moses and Moses enforced the laws given by God on the Israelites. But as the time went by many of them could not keep up with the law of Moses.

Even today every country has laws and every state has their own laws. The laws differ from nation to nation. Nevertheless every citizen of that nation has to obey the laws. Any person who breaks them will face the consequences. Some of the penalties include paying fines or going to prison, or doing community services etc. It all depends on the judge executing the sentencing. If the judge is kind, he could set the person who is found guilty to a lesser punishment or free them entirely.

If someone asks you how many sins does a person has to commit to become a sinner? The answer is zero. Even though a person has never done any wrongdoing in his entire life, he is still considered as a sinner. The truth of the matter is that every person born out of mother’s womb is born a sinner. The reason is that we all have one father through which the entire humanity began. Do not believe the lies of men saying that man evolved out of an ape or through a single cell. All of the men who propagate lies will one day stand in the judgment of God and will be held accountable for every idle word they spoke.

Since Adam and Eve sinned, their children inherited the nature of sin and multiplied it through their children and their children. This proves that man’s nature is the same as that of Adam. No. Man was not made by any other false gods nor worked out his way out of caveman nor it was the effect of an Asteroid hitting earth billions of years ago. Sin came through Adam and it is because of that no matter which nation, tribe or tongue you visit they all exhibit the same quality of sinful nature. The entire eight billion population of the world are sinners minus those who are saved by the grace of God. If a person is not saved by Jesus Christ then that person is still a sinner according God’s standard.

Unless and until the person realizes that he is a born sinner and asks God to forgive his sins and accepts Christ as his only redeemer, he is not saved. Only Jesus Christ can set a person free from the bondage of sin and slavery. Salvation means deliverance. To receive the free gift of salvation means to be delivered from sins at no cost to us.

Jesus Christ died for our sins sake, to set us free. A person who is born a sinner continues to live in sin until he surrenders his life to Christ. Apostle Paul writes that a person is blessed who lawless deeds are forgiven. Imagine a person living for fifty, sixty or hundred years of lawless life and then one day finds out that Jesus Christ died for him to save him from the penalty of death. The multitude of sins committed by that person are instantly forgiven by God not to remember them anymore. But not only the sins are forgiven but that person is blessed. Here the meaning for blessed is to be rewarded. Can you imagine not only your sins have been forgiven but God is going to bless you from that time onwards. Zero effort from the human side and one hundred percent effort from God’s side. What a joy and a privilege!

Have you received the free gift of salvation through Christ Jesus? It is not too late. The Bible in Acts 16 verse 31 says this:

Acts 16:31

31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.

In Jesus precious name! Amen.

Maranatha!
