³⁰ for those who honor Me I will honor, …..

When we honor God, God honors us back not equally but out of proportionately. That means if we honor God once, He will remember to honor us back a ten fold, or a thousand fold times or even more. Many times even though we don’t remember how many times we have honored God, God remembers how many times He has honored us. Let us find out the definition to honor someone means. It means to hold or regard someone with highest regard. Honor has the sense of value, price, or quality. That which is valued and esteemed is “honored.” The biblical use sometimes also means to seek to enhance the reputation of someone. The biblical emphasis on honoring others has everything to do with the biblical command to honor God.

Many times we see or hear about men getting the medal of honor either for serving the country by fighting against the enemy or by committing a brave act to rescue someone from danger. Did you know that God protects and saves each person from the dangers of life a zillion times! The reason I stated zillion is to say that He saved us countless number of times from the dangers of this life. You see in this life, every person goes through childhood, and other stages of life. At any given moment we are prone to accidents, disasters and other life altering events.

People live for 90 or 100 years and yet fail to honor God. They don’t realize that the lifespan is allotted by God and all those years it is God who has been watching and protecting them. God nourished them to reach that age and He is with them even every step of the way even though they don’t recognize that God is the one who is honoring them. One thing I want to clarify is that God honors us no matter what whether we honor Him or not. Call it one sided love. God’s love never diminishes in spite of our evil nature against Him. He wants to reconcile with us and bring us back into His Kingdom and adopt into God’s family and make us His children.

Every creature that God created, He took extra care and planned everything for that creature to survive on this earth. Take for example, God created the beasts of the wild and guided them where to find the food. God guided each of the animal species to find a mate and copulate to further extend the animal kingdom. Similarly God honored the bird species to do the same. God honored His creation by creating male and female from every species to further extend His creation. Did you know that all of the animal species, the birds, the sea creatures and million other things that God created obey God by honoring Him? No animal breaks the order of God. This is so important and critical for man to grasp of how God honors His creation. Did you know that no two planets collide? They are all suspended by the Glory of God. Otherwise the earth would be drawn to the magnetic field of sun and burned and disintegrated to ashes in a matter of nanoseconds.

The heavenly bodies honor God by staying in the position that God ordained them to be. This is all beyond human comprehension to understand the deep truths of God. The Word of God declares that God is love.

1 John 4:8

⁸ He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

What does love do? Love results in honor. If we love someone, we honor them. We honor someone by saying we love them. The expression of love is to honor them in the highest esteem.

Therefore anyone who does not love God, does not honor God.

³¹ So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
