John 3:36
36 He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
From the above passage we see that John the Baptist is exalting the Lord Jesus Christ. Even though John the Baptist arrived before Christ, he humbled himself by saying that Christ must increase and John must decrease. This is to say that the ministry of John the Baptist must end. John the Baptist was making the way for our Lord Jesus Christ to begin His ministry. John was teaching his disciples and was baptizing them in the Jordan river. His teaching was based on the baptism of repentance. Based on the teaching of John the Baptist people were being baptized by immersion into the water and raised up signifying that the people made the choice to repent of their sins. When we read Mark chapter one and verse four says this:
Mark 1:4
4 John came baptizing in the wilderness and preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.
The people who were baptized by John the Baptist were later on baptized by Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit.
Mark 1:8
8 I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”
John the Baptist was a forerunner of the true Messiah. Only Lord Jesus Christ was given the authority over all things by the Father. Over all things means Christ’s supremacy is over all things. Things that are visible and invisible. Only Jesus Christ has the power to redeem a person that has been lost in this world. He alone can rescue any person that has been spiritually dead. John 3:36 declared by John the Baptist says that he who believes in the Son of God that is Lord Jesus Christ has life that is everlasting. The person who does not believe in the Son of God has no life and will not see life. The wrath of God remains on that person. Friends no one wants to experience the wrath of God. Not even the thought of experiencing God’s wrath.
John 3:35
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.
The Word of God which we call it the Bible is the only true Book that has been given to the entire world. Those who read and follow Christ obediently are the only ones that are going to inherit the kingdom of God according to the promise of God. For this reason Christ was sent into this world by the Father to set each one us those who called on His name free. Free from the guilt, free from shame, free from the bondage of sin and slavery. There is no one from this world that can save a person from sinful life and especially from the wrath of God. Only Lord Jesus Christ who came from heaven can save the person from the powers of darkness. For Christ is the light of this world.
Have you received the free gift of salvation through Christ Jesus? It is not too late. The Bible in Romans chapter 10 and verse 13 says this:
Romans 10:13
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
In Jesus precious name! Amen.
Maranatha!
