Job 38:4

⁴ “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding.

The wisdom that the people of this world have is given by God. When we read the book of Job we find out that the book’s theme is the eternal problem of unmerited suffering, and it is named after its central character, Job, who attempts to understand the sufferings that engulf him. The story of Job begins like this:

Job 1:1

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil. 

Job was blameless and upright man and one who feared God and shunned evil. God blessed him abundantly lacking anything. But he goes through suffering that was unbearable.

This is where God comes into the picture. What is the moral of the story of Job in the Bible? The moral of the story is that people must have faith in God even in adversity. People cannot know everything happening in the universe and therefore cannot know why certain things happen. As I mentioned in the blog yesterday, the nations rebel against God and ignore Him and His orders completely. In the larger sense it is the nations that disobey God and in the smaller sense the individual families of this world that disobey God’s law and order. God requires everyone of us to be saved and seek Him through His Son who was sent into this world to save that was lost when the fall of man took place in the garden of Eden.

God wants to reconcile with us and bring us back to Himself. Jesus came into this world and He was crucified for sinners like us. He was nailed to a Roman cross. Christ suffered for our sins sake. He died, was buried and He rose again on the third day conquering the death. There is no other book under the heaven that one needs to believe other than the Bible which is the Word of God. If God wants to destroy this earth He made, it would take Him just a fraction of a second to destroy it. God is giving each one of us the time to repent of our sins and know that there is only one God who rules this Universe and accept His Son as our Savior. Only Jesus Christ can deliver us from Satan. In the case of Job, God restored everything that Job lost with a double portion of blessing because of Job’s obedience to obey God’s commandments. What about you? Where do you stand with God? Everyone of us needs to ask this question. Time is not on our side. Time obeys God’s Word. If He says it’s over, then for sure it is over.
