Genesis 32:28
28 And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
The Nation of Israel as it stands today has a very long history. Many Israelis are not even aware of this truth. Today we are seeing a growing trend among the people when it comes to choosing sides, they are immediately drawn to the people of Palestine because of the suffering they are going because of the ongoing war.
But if we carefully examine of how the Nation of Israel was formed, one would understand that it was God that made the covenant with Abraham. This covenant as we read it in the Bible which is the only Word of God reveals:
Genesis 17:9
9 And God said to Abraham: “As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations.
The land of Israel is Abraham’s heritage given to Abraham by God Himself. Then we see, Jacob, Abraham’s grandson blessed by his father Isaac.
Genesis 27:29
29 Let peoples serve you,
And nations bow down to you.
Be master over your brethren,
And let your mother’s sons bow down to you.
Cursed be everyone who curses you,
And blessed be those who bless you!”
Jacob’s brother was Esau through whom Edomites came from. Once again we see that a similar blessing given by God to Abraham is given to Jacob by his father Isaac. Cursed be everyone who curses you and blessed be those who bless you. As the story progresses Jacob is given a new name by God Himself. His new name is called Israel. It means ‘God fights’. Our God is a mighty God, He is a marvelous God. His ways are higher than our ways.
He chose Israel to be a blessing to all the nations of the world. The war that Israel is facing currently will be pale in comparison to the war that is coming. But before that final battle happens, the Church will be raptured. With the Church raptured, ends the Church age, thus paving to the period of tribulation.
1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
The Bible declares that we shall always be with the Lord Jesus Christ after the rapture. Therefore let us comfort one another with these words.
Let us not forget to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Psalm 122:6
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
Have you received the free gift of salvation through Christ Jesus? It is not too late. The Bible in Acts 16 verse 31 says this:
Acts 16:31
31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.
In Jesus precious name! Amen.
Maranatha!
