The parable of the Wheat and the Tares

²⁵ but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.

Today we will see the effects of tares. The tares or the weeds have been causing extensive damage to the crop production in the United States. Herbicides for weed control represent 60% of the volume and 65% of the expenditures for pesticides used by U.S. farmers. Each year, U.S. growers spend approximately $6.6 billion for herbicides and their applications. That expenditure does not include home owners lawns and retail landscaping and parks and so on. The job of the weeds is to encroach the field illegally and suffocate the actual crop. It will not allow the crop or lawns to grow because, the weeds feed on the food that is prepared for the crops and in return they produce toxic environments costing billions of dollars to eradicate the weeds. The weeds are not just limited to the United States. This is a major problem of the world. The rice fields and wheat fields and the rest of all commodities are under attack constantly by these killer weeds.

Lord Jesus Christ said in the above verse that an enemy sowed the tares in the wheat field while men were sleeping and left. Who were these sleeping men you might ask? These were the men that were assigned to take care of that field instead they slept and allowed the enemy to sow the weeds. In other words these were the men that were saved by the blood of Jesus. Later on when the servants came to the Master and enquired whether to pull those weeds, the Master replied and told the servants to hold off until the harvest time. Otherwise by pulling the weeds will also uproot the wheat crop.

Now going back to what I mentioned yesterday, all man made religions are similar to these weeds. How did these man made religions hurt the Christianity you might wonder? Although Christianity began two thousand years ago, the progression has been slow because the Devil who schemes evil every second has been enrolling men to do his bidding by offering different religions, different Christian denominations, offering wickedness in the highest form, wokeism and other forms of race baiting ideas and culture wars and so on.

Jesus Christ said this in Matthew 11:12

¹² And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.

When the Word of God encounters forceful limitations on how the Word is preached, it limits the number of believers being added to the Kingdom of God. Satan and his agents are a stumbling block to the extension of the kingdom of God. There will be many hurdles that a Christian needs to learn to fight the evil. There is an hour that will come upon this entire earth called the reaping hour. During that time all man made things will be isolated and demolished by our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Bible declares that Lord Jesus Christ is the judge of the living and the dead. There’s no escape from His judgements. Seek the Lord Jesus Christ while He is found.

Let us not forget to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Psalm 122:6

⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
