God’s Word of the Day November 05 2023 The Wheat and the Tares

The parable of the Wheat and the Tares

The Parable of the Tares Explained by our Lord Jesus Christ starting in verse 36 through 43:

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”

37 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

By reading the above passages from the Gospel of Matthew chapter eleven we come across few important things that Jesus Christ mentioned. Today we will meditate on the following point:

2. Those who practice lawlessness will be gathered and cast into the furnace of fire.

Who are these people who practice lawlessness? First of all let us examine what it means to practice lawlessness. When a person deliberately disobeys the commands of God, then that person is described as lawless or the one who breaks God’s law. Every person living on this planet is bound by certain rules and laws of God no matter what nation he lives in. For example when a person invades another person’s life and murders that person, he is breaking not only the law of the land but also the law of God. Therefore the person who committed the murder is called the murderer.

It is a fact that the earth belongs to God, as He is the Creator of this Universe. He not only formed the earth and all that is on this earth belongs to Him and Him alone. Lawlessness is an endless subject that men have been practicing for centuries. They have been trespassing God’s orders time and time again.

The above verses declare that they will not inherit the kingdom of God. Besides this following other gods, idols who are worthless, establishing false religions and proselytizing. Everyone of them will have to answer their Maker one of these days. Obviously, if a person does not inherit the kingdom of God, then he has only one other place that he will be going and that place is called the furnace of fire.

The Bible declares that Lord Jesus Christ is the judge of the living and the dead. There’s no escape from His judgements. Seek the Lord Jesus Christ while He is found.

Have you received the free gift of salvation through Christ Jesus? It is not too late. The Bible in Acts 16 verse 31 says this:

Acts 16:31

31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.

In Jesus precious name! Amen.

Maranatha!
