God’s Word of the Day November 15 2023 Search the Scriptures daily and Preach Christ

Luke 9:56

Several places in the Scriptures, Jesus Christ mentioned that He did not come to destroy men’s lives but to save them. Men’s lives here means the souls of human beings. Man lives only once and then faces God’s judgment for the way he lived. For he has to give an account of his lifestyle to God. The biggest misconception among the world population is that Jesus Christ is not God. Some say that He was just a poor man born in a poor family and some say that He was only a prophet. Some don’t believe in Him, because they consider another being that came six hundred years after Christ to be more worthy. For some His Words are too difficult to live with.

In the above passage Jesus is giving the assurance that He is not here to punish people for their wrong doings but to forgive them and accept them into His kingdom. Is the Word(s) of Lord Jesus Christ still valid today? The answer is YES. Even today God does not want to destroy anyone on purpose. Man destroys himself by the choices he makes in life. The above saying of Christ is valid until He returns again a second time.

Jesus Christ said that He was the resurrection and the life.

If Jesus Christ is life then He is a life giver and not a life destroyer. Jesus came into this world to save that was lost. What does it mean to save the lost? Every person that is born into this world is lost by default. One cannot know God by any other means. He has only one choice to know God. That is through Jesus Christ alone. No amount of penance or by receiving Eucharist or by sitting under a tree and growing long hair and beard or by cracking a bunch of coconuts to idols, or by screaming loud prayers through a megaphone can save a soul from going to hell. Nothing can save a person from the coming wrath of God. Therefore all of us need a Savior to save us from the impending judgment of God that is going to come upon the entire world.

The Bible declares that Lord Jesus Christ is the judge of the living and the dead. The first advent Jesus came as the Son of Man. The second advent, Lord Jesus Christ will come as the avenger. He will return as the King of kings and the Lord of lords. There’s no escape from His judgements. Seek the Lord Jesus Christ while He is found.

Have you received the free gift of salvation through Christ Jesus? It is not too late. The Bible in Acts 16 verse 31 says this:

Acts 16:31

31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, you and your household.

In Jesus precious name! Amen.

Maranatha!
