James 1:2

² My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 

As we pass through the last day of the year 2023 let us all thank God for His mercy, for His grace and most importantly for His love towards each one of us. There’s is not a single minute that goes by where God ignores us. His attention is always towards us.

Out of the many attributes of God, love is an attribute that allows God to continuously love His creation. That is the reason His children, (we) are not consumed by His wrath. Ask any mother, when her baby no matter how many times cries the mother always attends to the baby’s needs. The mother never thinks that this will be the last time she is going calm the baby. Similarly when the children of God rebel and sin against God, God lovingly opens His arms and allows His children to come back to Him when we confess our sins to our Lord.

For this reason Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross with His arms wide open. Any person who willfully comes to Jesus and repents of his sins is openly received into the arms of our Savior Lord Jesus Christ. It is impossible for God not to love us. His love is unconditional. For this reason when Apostle Peter asked Jesus about forgiveness in Matthew chapter eighteen, Jesus said this:

Matthew 18:21-22

²¹ Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”

²² Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven. 

Humanly it is impossible to measure the love of God. One of the questions that many people that are ignorant of God’s love ask is why God allows disasters, wars, famines and other life changing events? This is similar to asking why man commits murders, rapes, cheats, disobeys the law and order, introduce newly defined genders, same sex unions, divorce and so on. If God has the power to control natural disasters then God has the power to control man’s behavior also.

Before Adam committed the first sin or the original sin, in the Garden of Eden, God had the power to stop it but He allowed Adam to disobey God’s commandment. As I mentioned earlier, God’s love is unconditional. Even after Adam sinned God never stopped loving Adam. Regardless of the life’s problems Adam faced, God loved Adam. Every person born on this planet has experienced God’s love. In fact the reason we are breathing is only because of God’s love towards the man.

Because of God’s loving nature, He will never stop us from doing evil things. God’s overwhelming love will enable His children to overcome the evil desires and thoughts. That is the reason every believer has to saturate his/her thoughts with the Word of God. The Word of God is the love of God that enables each one of us to overcome the trials of this life with joy.

Let us close this year 2023 with thanksgiving and praise to God the Father through His Son Lord Jesus Christ.

For anyone to reject the Son of God willfully will be the most foolish thing to do on this earth.
