God’s Word of the Day January 05 2024 but for the will of God.

Man has two natures of desire in him. One is a fleshly desire and the other one is a spiritual desire. Every person who is born into this world is born with a fleshly desire. There’s nothing that man needs to do to acquire it. Even a baby is born with a fleshly desire. Take for example a baby cries when he is hungry. Hungering for food is a fleshly desire. For some grown ups hungering goes to the next level. We call it lusting after food. Again this is called fleshly lust. Flesh does not control our mind(s) but mind on the other hand controls our flesh.

But if we don’t learn to train our mind, then it is called gluttony in case of eating too much habitually. Lust is a strong, powerful desire, whether it’s a noun or verb: you lust for things you deeply crave. Someone greedy lusts for money. Someone gluttonous lusts for food. The most basic meaning of lust is an unquenchable desire for sex, but people lust for all sorts of things. Where is this lust coming from? The lust is born out of the fleshly desires.

The Word of God dictates us to put to death the members of our body.

The spirit of man does not know how to control the above mentioned things. That is the reason you see many people taking up on practicing yoga or some kind of meditation to control their minds. What people don’t understand is that it is not their mind but it is their heart that is corrupted. A corrupted heart leads to a corrupted mind. If one is able to fix his heart then the mind can easily be controlled.

Before the arrival of Jesus Christ two thousand years ago, the Jewish people were following the law given by Moses. The law never addressed the heart issue. No amount of law can ever fix the lusts of the flesh. Only the Holy Spirit of God teaches us on how to say no to the lusts of men.

The moment a person surrenders his or her life to Christ, instantly the Holy Spirit is sent into us and we are sealed by the Third Person of the Trinity.

Let us all allow the Holy Spirit to do mighty things for the kingdom of God this 2024.

because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

In Jesus precious name! Amen.

Maranatha!
