1 Peter 4:2

² that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

Apostle Peter knew exactly what he was writing in the Epistle of 1st Peter and 2nd Peter. Peter was called Simon. It is when Jesus Christ appointed the twelve disciples, He gave a new name to Simon. Lord Jesus Christ changed Simon’s name to Peter. Those who want to become the disciples of Jesus Christ must first and foremost deny themselves. In order to be used for God’s service, we are given a new name by our Lord Jesus. A person has to lose everything that he had gained previously from the worldly wisdom and knowledge. Simon means wavering or unstable. Peter means rock. This Apostle went from being a wavering and unstable person to becoming a rock to many. Those who do the will of God, the Bible declares that we will be given a new name.

In the above verse Saint Peter boldly declares that any living person called by God through His Son Jesus Christ should no longer live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. As I mentioned in my earlier post living for the will of God is not possible humanly speaking. In order to live for the will God, only God can make this possible. We have to allow God to work in us. Our God is an extraordinary God. There’s no contest or match against Him in any aspect. The only person that thinks to go against God is the Devil, the Satan. Even though his time is short, he thinks that he can fight with God. In other words the only person that wants to go against the will of God is Satan and his followers.

That is the reason we see billions of people going against the will of the Father who is in heaven. All of these billions and billions of people have sided with the devil and together do things that are against the will of the God. Did you know that rejecting God’s Son Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest sin that deserves death as a result of God’s judgment? Any person who does not live according to the will of God, His wrath is upon them. This includes all the Jewish people, the Hindus, the Catholics, the Mormons, the Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, Shinto, Atheists, Agnostics, Communists, Socialists and many more.
