1 Peter 4:2

² that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

Many parents allow their children to live a lifestyle filled with arrogance, and disrespect for the law and order and homosexual lifestyles. They also indulge in sports and binge watching television programs that are totally unworthy. They approve their children to live-in relationships. Living with someone unmarried is a sin. These are just a few reasons why men are unable to preach topics like living for the will of God.

In other words these men allow the lusts of the world to steer their lives. The Bible teaches us that unless we become blind to the lusts of the world, we are unable to see the things of God. The naked eye cannot see the things of heaven and the spiritual eyes cannot see the lusts of the world. It is not possible to see both. If any believer is still longing to fulfill his desires of the flesh then he or she cannot see the things that are reserved for God’s children. Did you know even longing to see a movie is a desire of the flesh? Any person walking according to the will of God will never be wanting to fulfill the desires of the flesh. The will of the flesh and the will of God are two entirely different roads. They will never ever converge. One needs to be spiritually strong to do the will of the Father. Even though he is physically frail, he will be made stronger by our Lord.

Apostle Paul had a thorn in his flesh. He had an infirmity of some kind. But when he prayed, our Lord said that His grace was sufficient for Paul. Later on Paul said that even though he was weak, he was stronger spiritually because of the power of Christ. After Paul found Jesus Christ in his life, he abandoned everything that was holding him that is his fleshly desires. Instead he began to walk with the Lord that is when Paul learned to do the will of God.

Our lifestyle matters to God greatly. People who go to work have one thing in common. They all go to work to please their employer. It is that simple. No one goes to work to fulfill their activities or desires. When the employer finds out that the employee is not doing his job, that employee will be chastised and perhaps demoted or even fired by the employer.

In this new year let us seek the will of God and abandon all that is dragging us down into the pit. Let us look above and seek the kingdom of God. You see when we see above into the skies it is infinite but when we see down we can see the ground and touch it. Our aim should be to touch what we cannot see and it is only possible with God given spiritual eyes.

1 Corinthians 16:22

²² If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!

The above declaration is for the entire mankind. No one is exempt from this. If anyone does not love Lord Jesus Christ, he or she will face the ultimate judgment.
