2 Timothy 3:1
3 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
Yesterday we found out that Lord Jesus Christ Himself inaugurated the onset of the last days. For this reason He left His heavenly abode came to earth to warn the people that He created that the last days have begun. Majority of the Churches in the world do not touch the subject of last days. They think that the matter is too sensitive for our ears. Many times these so called Churches make decisions based on their congregations.
Some of the mega Churches are more concerned about the offerings they collect every week. Did you know it is a sin not to alert people about the last days? Suppose you know that the bridge is collapsed and you don’t want to flag people to slow down and stop? You will be held responsible for your actions. Similarly if the Bible teaches about the last days and after hearing the warning from God, if you don’t let others know, doesn’t God hold you accountable?
The message of Jesus Christ to repent was in fact applicable to every person living on this planet. Every Jew and every Gentile must repent of their sins in order for God to show His mercy. One can repent only through the blood of Jesus Christ.
Apostle Paul in his Epistle to Timothy is alerting Timothy that during the last days there will be terrible times. Some translations mention it as perilous times, trying times or difficult times. Now why did Paul say that in the last days? Was it any different than today’s culture? No. It is no different than what we are seeing today. Let me take you to the passage from the Book of Romans:
Romans 1:21
21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Does the above passage seems so familiar to us? What we are seeing in this world today is the absolute rejection for the Word of God. The institutions of this world have taken God’s order and have manipulated it to their own convenience(s). What is considered as right by God has been determined as wrong by the mortal beings or the people of this world.
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
God loves every one of us. There are no exceptions. But do you love God? Our eternity depends upon whether we love God or not. If anyone does not love His Son Lord Jesus Christ, then he or she will not inherit the kingdom of God.
In Jesus precious name! Amen.
Maranatha!
