John 6:35
35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life.
So, there is only one bread of life. This source of life is Lord Jesus Christ. The people who do not eat this bread have no life in them. I am talking about the spiritual life. Without inheriting this life one cannot receive the kingdom of God. Christ Jesus came into this world to give us this life at no cost to us. None of us have to work hard to receive this eternal life. As a matter of fact none of us need to work to receive this eternal life.
All we have to do is to confess and repent of our sins and ask Lord Jesus Christ to come into our lives and promise to live according to the Word of God. He will come and cleanse us from all unrighteousness and will not remember our sins anymore. At this time we have become a new creation. Old things have gone and new things have come. That is the new nature of Christ.
The Word of God teaches us that those who have been saved by the blood of Jesus Christ have received Him freely. All the heavy lifting was done by our Lord. On our behalf He bore our sins, the wrath that was reserved for the sons of disobedience He took upon Himself. On a similar day like today 2000 plus years ago Lord Jesus Christ carried the cross on His shoulders and went up to the hill called Golgotha. There He allowed Himself to be crucified. The hour has come for our Lord to be offered as a living sacrifice for the sins of the humanity.
It began with the first man Adam sinning against God and since then we all sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Therefore the wages of sin is death. Laboring against the will of God results in death. But Lord Jesus Christ voluntarily submitted to the will of His Father. He became our mediator between God and us, the sinners. He is the bridge that bridges between God the Father and those that are saved by receiving the free gift of salvation.
May we all ponder on the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ today and meditate on the promises of God and the seven sayings of Jesus Christ on the cross of crucifixion!
What a mighty God is our Lord Jesus Christ! Praise Him!
In Jesus precious name! Amen.
Maranatha!
