The Day of the LORD
The day of the Lord is mentioned in the Bible at least twenty times. In the New Testament Apostle Paul and Apostle Peter warn their readers that THE Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night.
Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:2 says this:
2 For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.
Peter in 2 Peter 3:10 mentions this:
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, ….
Not only did the Apostles Paul and Peter mentioned this but our Lord Jesus Christ Himself said this in:
Revelation 16:15
15 “Behold, I am coming as a thief. ….
Based on the above passages let us examine what does a thief do? A thief sneaks into the house when the owner of that house is unprepared. It is very crucial to be vigilant at all times and watching our surroundings and our neighborhoods. Otherwise the thief may come and destroy the place. Many times we hear or see on the news that a sudden earthquake hit some place and has caused extensive damage. In the above verses, the word thief is used as a metaphor. So, when the Lord returns it will be sudden and the destruction will be so sudden that there will hardly be any time to save or hide from the coming wrath of God.
The Bible is the true Word of God that prepares every Christian believer on how to meet God through His Son Lord Jesus Christ. This way the believer is not taken by surprise. Because the scriptures make it clear with the help of the Holy Spirt for a believer to understand what needs to happen before the Day of the Lord occurs. But for those who have not accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they are in for a shocking surprise when the Lord shows up along with myriads of His hosts. The same Jesus who has ascended into the heaven will return on the Day of the Lord with vengeance to wage the war on the earth who ruined and defiled His creation.
Christ is the only way to God the Father.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
What a mighty God is our Lord Jesus Christ! Praise Him!
In Jesus precious name! Amen.
Maranatha!
