Matthew 17:5

⁵ While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”

Many things happened during the transfiguration of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am going to list just one incident today. Transfiguration means to change one’s appearance. The disciples Peter, John and James heard the voice of God emphasizing the importance of hearing the words of His Son Lord Jesus Christ. The Law which represented Moses and the Prophets which represented Elijah disappeared leaving only Lord Jesus Christ when God gave the affirmation about His Son. Here the scripture spoken by Jesus Christ in Matthew 5:17, was fulfilled in Him.

Matthew 5:17

¹⁷ “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill.

God’s voice was heard by the Peter, John and James. The same goes to each person who follows Jesus Christ. God’s assurance about His beloved Son Jesus, allows every Christian believer to hear the truth about Jesus Christ teachings that sets us free from the bondage of sin.

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

What a mighty God is our Lord Jesus Christ! Praise Him!
