Luke 2:46

Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.

Luke describes that when Jesus was twelve years old they went to Jerusalem to attend the Feast of Passover. Due to a large number of people attending the Passover, it seemed like Jesus was lost in the crowd as Joseph and Mary searched for Him for three days.

The above passage declares that Jesus was found in the temple on the third day, sitting in the midst of the teachers both listening to them and asking questions. Imagine a twelve year old Young Jesus listening and asking questions. It is not normal for any twelve year old asking questions that is beyond their age or thinking abilities. When such things occur, they are called a child prodigy.

Lord Jesus Christ spent not one day, not two days but three days in the temple listening and discussing with the teachers. For many Christian believers it is difficult to spend even one hour sitting on a Sunday Church service. And in that one hour only twenty or thirty minutes is given to the preacher to preach the Word. Most of the time many members fall asleep during that time. But for the teachers in the temple, listening and questioned by Young Jesus for three days was perhaps mind boggling to them. Perhaps many teachers wouldn’t have known the answers to the questions asked by Jesus.

One thing that every born again believer needs to grasp is that the purpose for which Jesus Christ came into this world is to reveal the will of His Father. During His ministry for three and half years, Jesus represented His Father’s will. He made it clear that His mission was to let us know who the Father God is.

Jesus Christ is the only Person through which the believers learn who the Father is. It is an interesting fact that the Father wants us to know who His Son is and the Son wants to reveal who the Father is. The Holy Spirit is the Helper who helps us and comforts the children of God in knowing who Christ is and through Jesus Christ every Christian who is faithful will know the Father. These Three also called the Trinity, work together in the life of a believer.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
