Bible Facts Of The Day, December 31, 2024 Confess Christ before men

Matthew 10:32

At the peak of His earthly ministry, Christ ordained the twelve disciples and sent them out to the cities and towns proclaiming that the kingdom of God is at hand. One of things that Jesus taught them was to confess Christ before men. Back in Jesus’ time and now, confessing before men that Jesus Christ is Lord is an embarrassing moment for many people.

You see in Catholic faith, Catholics go privately to a priest who is in a confessional booth, and confess to him. This way the priest would neither know who the confessor is nor the person would know who the priest is. Without knowing each other, the expectation is, that the person’s sins are pardoned or forgiven by that priest.

Since, when did God give man the permission to pardon man’s sin? As far as the Bible says, only the Son of God has the authority to forgive the sins of men and save them from their sins. There is no one under the sun has the authority to forgive the sins of men.

The above verse in Acts is not me saying but the Eternal Word of God speaking. Therefore no one on earth has the power to forgive people’s sins. Only Lord Jesus Christ can save us from our sins.

But how is a person saved? A person is saved by confessing that Jesus is Lord in front of men. This is the reason Churches and other Worship places offer Alter Call for men to come forward and claim Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. These are not my words but the Words of Christ. Just as we confess Jesus before men, Jesus will also confess us before His Father.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
