Matthew 10:31
31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
When we watch the news or read, we see that the news never sleeps. But the one news that bothers the most is men and women killing each other, or men invading the privacy of a woman and killing them. Doctors aborting babies. Nations fighting against another nation. Notorious serial killers going on a killing spree and so on.
Since the beginning of the creation man began to feel jealous of another man’s possessions. Jealousy played an important role in the killings of their own family members. As a matter the tenth commandment states, “You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods”. It means that people should not desire, take, or damage the property of others. It also forbids greed and the desire to accumulate wealth without limit. It also includes the lust towards another woman who does not belong to that person.
Exodus 20:17
17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”
The term, “neighbor”, extends beyond mere physical proximity to encompass a broader moral and ethical obligation to others, emphasizing love, compassion, and kindness. For ages kings who conquered the kingdoms would also take the women of that kingdom to be their wives/concubines. All of these things began with man’s desire to possess what he did not have. We see this happen even today. It doesn’t matter what culture they come from or what nation they belong to. As long as they are human beings fleshly desires prevail.
In the beginning in the Garden, God gave Adam the authority to name all the animals. God delegated certain responsibilities to Adam.
Genesis 2:19
19 Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name.
You see God trusted the man that He created and brought forth him into existence. TRUST is the most important word in the Bible. It simply means to rely upon, or to have confidence in one’s ability. Man was the most trustworthy person that God Himself could rely upon. Imagine Adam naming the thousands and thousands of animals, and birds of the air. It was perhaps an exhaustive list of names.
The Bible says that Adam was created in the image of God. The phrase “man was created in the image of God” means that the mankind was created to reflect God’s nature, and to have a relationship with Him. Of all the things that God created, Adam was the pinnacle of His creation.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
