LORD

We saw yesterday how the Israelites waited upon the Lord God of Israel. Unless and until God moved, the Israelites could not move their tents. Perhaps many of them did not want to wait upon the Lord. After all who wants to spend forty years in the wilderness with no where to go. That’s a lot of time waiting upon the Lord.

Lord means Owner or Master. One might wonder what it means to be an owner or a master. Who does God own and Master of? He owns the entire Universe. Since we are talking about Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are undeniably declaring that Christ is our Owner and as well our Master. Jesus has become my Owner since He owns me. The reason He owns me is because of the ransom that was paid by Him to set me free from my sins. Lord Jesus Christ purchased me with His blood that was shed from His body.

As a servant of Jesus Christ we must learn to humble ourselves. A servant has to live a life pleasing his master. A servant of God never should suggest anything that offends the Holy Spirit. As a servant of God, one has to realize that there is freedom only through Lord Jesus Christ. Outside of Christ, a born again believer has no business enjoying the worldly lifestyle. The worldly lifestyle is for those who do not know Jesus Christ.

The Word of God declares that:

James 4:4

⁴ Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

The Bible declares that people that are outside of Jesus Christ as adulterers and adulteresses. Because they are friends with the world rather than being the friend of God.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
