LORD JESUS CHRIST
Genesis 4:16
16 Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden.
If someone poses a question about what is happening in this world today? What would be your answer? Think about it. Scripturally speaking, the answer in one word would be, “wickedness”. There’s the organized crime and there’s the disorganized crime all around the world.
The word “wickedness” comes from the Middle English word wikkednesse, which is a combination of “wicked” and “-ness”. “Wicked” comes from the Old English word wicca, which means “wizard” or “a male witch”.
Bible mentions the word ‘wicked’ over four hundred and fifty times. Genesis 6:5 says that the mankind had almost completely corrupted themselves within ten generations after Adam and Eve.
Genesis 6:5
5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
The above passage from the Genesis 4:16 says, that Cain dwelt in the land of Nod which was on the east of the Eden. You see, Cain was living outside of God’s presence. Many times as believers we put ourselves to live outside of God’s presence. The Bible does not mention the distance between the Garden of Eden and the land of Nod but it does not matter. Because you could still be close to the Eden yet you are still outside the Garden of God.
As born again believers in Christ, we are to show utmost reverence to the God who brought us into His presence. There cannot be even a hint that you are outside of God’s presence. Even the thought of a wicked act can allow us to isolate from the Lord. Take for example how sixty seconds can add up to a minute and sixty minutes to an hour and twenty four hours adding up to a day and seven days to a week and so on. Even it is off by a nanosecond, the whole time will change causing a great discrepancy.
I do not want to go into the technical details but the earth spinning on its own axis and rotating around the sun is so accurate that if it is off even by 1/1000th of a second, it could cause a catastrophic effect on the earth. Because of God’s perfect creation, He will not allow anything to happen to the earth until He desires to do so. This is the God we serve. For God is our provider, He knows our need and He is willing to consider us given that we obey His will and His commandments.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
