LORD JESUS CHRIST
Genesis 4:16
16 Then Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden.
The most common misconception about God in the world is this: “Why does a good God allows bad things to happen in the world?” When we see wars raging endlessly and when innocent people are displaced and their houses destroyed or when people killing each other, it seems like a big question, where is God in all of these things!
The answer is: God is where He is. He is on His throne. The throne is also called the throne of grace. The entire creation by God is sustained by only one thing called the grace. The grace of God holds everything together. Beginning with our lives to the ending of our lives depends on the grace of God. What do I mean by that?
You see when Adam committed the sin, he was not put to death instantly. Although the Lord was grieved by what Adam did, the Lord spared his life by kicking him out of the Garden of Eden. This is what is called by the grace of God. Adam did not deserve to go free because the act he committed deserved death. Although the death came because of Adam’s sin, it was not meant to be instant. But God out of His abundant mercy and grace allowed Adam to continue to live outside of God’s garden.
When innocent victims are killed by cruel people, we begin to question God. We ask, “why can’t God stop these barbaric actions committed by the wicked people?” God in all His infinite wisdom, He still allows it. He allows suffering, He allows hunger and famine, He allows people to reject Him. Every one of the God’s attributes are infinite in nature. No human can ever understand this. When we say God’s love is eternal, it means forever. Similarly, God’s grace is eternal. If the Lord stops his grace, that means He has finite power.
Many times we hear from preachers that God has given to each one of us the free will to chose. That’s correct. The free will is the ability to chose or ignore the One and the only true God. But because one choses to ignore God, He will not strike that person with a lightning bolt. God’s grace will still continue until that person breathes his last breath.
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.
Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus!
